Bull Talk
Our 43rd Annual Bull Sale offers a tremendous group of growthy, high scrotaling, high carcass, and easy fleshing bulls. Highlighting traits such as: calving ease, maternal strength, structural correctness, fleshing ability, growth, disposition, and carcass quality create the “Right Combination Bull”.
We want our bulls to gain pounds while still maintaining a low feed expense. Our high carcass bulls excel in converting dry matter to weight gained. We have had customers experience outstanding feed efficiency of 5.1 Dry Matter to 1 pound of gain with an average of 650-pound weaning weights, four pound per day of gain in the feedlot, and weights up to 1400 pounds at 14 months.
There is no better time to purchase bulls that breed carcass genetics, growth, calving ease, feed efficiency, thickness and structural soundness. Of the 98 angus bulls in this year’s sale, 96% meet the “Targeting the Brand” for CAB, and 73 of these lots are calving ease.
This year’s feature sire is Crouch Congress. What an exceptional set of bulls. These potential Herd Sires are definitely “The Right Combination”. Incredible growth with phenomenal structure; these easy moving, deep sided, fleshy bulls have the carcass merits we breed for and large scrotals. Make sure to note the 205 day weaning weights (over 900 pounds for Lots 1 & 2).
We are also going to offer 5 heifers in this year’s sale, and these females are just as good. Two are half-sisters to the 3rd high selling heifer we just sold in the Angus Finals at the NFR sale in Las Vegas. KCH Susie 333 was an outstanding heifer that brought $75,000. These heifers would be an asset to any cowman’s herd and are definite future donors.
Kendall will also have two growthy Sim Angus bulls that are stout and thick with fantastic structure. Lots 99 and 100 are two bulls you don’t want to miss.
We want to thank Glen Davis at Genetic Pathways for his guidance and consulting. This has turned out to be an exciting time to be in the Angus Business and we are so happy to have a prosperous future after all the struggles in the ranching industry the last 4 years.
We would like to invite you on January 16th, 2024 to see a brilliant lineup of bulls and enjoy a great meal. If you are unable to attend in-person, live bidding will be available through DVAuction.
Sincerely,
Ken Haas Angus
